I have followed you for years on IG but had no idea of how brilliant your writing was! I was engaged this whole time and didn’t want the piece to end. Can’t wait to read more of your work! Maybe a book in the works??
Hey, thank you so much for saying that! Yes, more coming soon (I'm late on my next post) and I've got a couple longer projects sort of in the works but writing a book is hard, I've found.
Thank you for your highlight on sobriety. I have 115 days and looking forward to a lifetime being present. Go to an AA meeting and checkout a great community filled with fellowship in kind.
Nearly 37 years for me. Congrats on your 115 - and congrats on the battle you fought with yourself BEFORE that 115 days started; life may be hard being sober, but it's so much better than being dead!
Congratulations! Sobriety is awesome and helpful in so many ways, especially creatively. Wishing you so much joy + inspiration + creativity as you explore this path.
I think I also need to get one of those kid safe phones I just saw advertised - only messaging, phone calls, and GPS, no apps or web browsers lol. The mind must be free to wander!
LOL, that's not a bad idea. Check out Gizmo, which is a watch you can wear as a phone / texting device (my nephew has one) a la Dick Tracey:) Wishing you all best.
HAR HAR! I have a cup of coffee in the morning, a green tea in the early afternoon if I need a boost or am doing something that night, and chamomile or some herbal tea at night. It's fun! My mom got me this "chamomint" tea from Shari's Tea (idk, google it) and it's really good. I don't add any milk or sugar or honey. Maybe one day.
You are an excuse maker. You are funny (a bit verbose) and an effective story teller. However, you are, obviously, in the denial phase of alcoholism - and I hope (I'll be cheering for you!) when you come to accept that sobriety is the only cure. I wish you well!

Great article. Are you still not drinking?
Still going strong on the sober train! Coming up on a year and I think I'll probably write a little follow up. Thank you!
I love this article about your sobriety, has my son read this? I must show it to him :)
You’re a wonderful writer Brandon! I very much look forward to reading more.

I see you and I love you! Thank you for sharing your journey. I know both roads.
so many roads!
what’s your tea regiment??
I heat up some water and pour the water into a mug where a teabag is and I drink it once it cools down a little

I love the birds. That’s the best metaphor I’ve heard for a while. Here’s to many many many more birds - flocks of those fuckers. You deserve them!!
